The
Township of Langley’s Agricultural Advisory Committee (LAAC) is pleased to
announce its third annual Farm Tour. This tour will highlight the diversity
and creativity of the farming industry and its impact in terms of economic
development, progressive farming operations, heritage conservation and even
filming opportunities.
This
year’s half-day tour will begin and end at Aldor Acres (24990 – 84th
Avenue). We are asking tour participants to meet at 11:00 am for
registration, a deli lunch and boarding of the chartered bus reserved for
this occasion. The bus will depart at 11:45 pm; the formal tour will begin
at the Fort Wine Co. at 12:00 Noon returning to Aldor Acres at approximately
4:30 pm for a milking demonstration, followed by an evening barbeque where
you will again have the opportunity sample local produce and wines and
network with the other guests.
Our
proposed tour will cover six different creative agricultural enterprises
designed to delight your palate and peak your interest in ‘value added’
agricultural opportunities in Langley. Our proposed tour will incorporate
the following site visits and will also incorporate various other commentary
and brief stops that will identify heritage conservation areas and sites;
