KAHLUA;
4 cups
sugar
1/2 cup instant coffee granules
3 cups water
dash salt
3 cups Vodka
3 tablespoons vanilla
In 3
quart saucepan, mix sugar and coffee. Stir in water and salt. Over high
heat, boil until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
Cool thoroughly and stir in the vodka and vanilla. (Both will evaporate if
added before completely cool.) makes 1 1/2 quarts
GALLIANO
2 cups
sugar
2/3 cups water
2 1/2 cups vodka
3 teaspoons lemon juice
3 teaspoons vanilla
2-4 drops yellow food extract
1/2 -1 tsp anise extract
Boil
sugar and water 3 minutes, cool and add rest of the ingredients.
BAILEY’S
IRISH CREAM
1/2 cup
Scotch
1/2 cup whiskey
1 can Eagle Brand (Sweetened condensed milk)
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
Hershey’s Syrup to taste (about 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons)
Mix all in blender, refrigerate
In any
of these recipes, use the best vanilla you can get. The Vodka brand isn’t
as critical, but imitation vanilla will alter the taste considerably
The
Kahlua is best if allowed to age, but also good immediately after blending.
Bottle
into dark-colored bottles to preserve the colors.
